A Few Examples of our Work

In addition to our amazing showcase clients we have included a few random highlights of our work. Of course all images are used by permission of our clients, so we thank them for sharing their amazing homes on our site.

Sun Worshippers

In this shot you can see giant solar panels being hoisted into place. Our Certified Green Builder status makes us one of the few builders in the area that are really qualified to do this sort of cutting edge work.

Bringing the Outdoors In - Part 1

Bringing the Outdoors In - Part 1

This client has the most amazing outdoor spaces you have ever imagined and they wanted to blur the line between where the outdoor spaces begin and the home itself ends. We were able to do that by introducing elements of the elevation into the interior of the home.

Bringing the Outdoors In - Part 2

Bringing the Outdoors In - Part 2

Notice how the patio makes use of tile that echos the dark hardwood floors of the home's interior and the beam work conintues throughout.

Yes, this is the back yard!

Yes, this is the back yard!

This home has so much curb appeal even in the back that I wish I could have made a circle drive around the whole house so everyone could see how well it turned out! I suppose it's best I didn't though, this busy family deserves a private sanctuary to relax in.

We could drone on and on about solar...

We could drone on and on about solar...

We are super proud of the fact that WHL is a certified Green Builder! This drone taken aerial image shows a client's state of the art solar system which we were able to install. This homeowner is able to power the home and even sell power back to the power company.

Hardware Made Easy

Hardware Made Easy

These fully operational skeleton key locks are the finishing touch for these 8 foot doors. The difference in a luxury home and just another house is in details like this. At WHL we point out opportunities for unique flair like this at every step of the way and let the homeowner decide how many to pursue.

Better Than New

Better Than New

I love a good remodel! Don't get me wrong, I love that can let my imagination run wild with new construction...but reimagining an existing home that has certain design constraints is a real challenge that separates the Master Builders from the Contractors. Extra attention to the materials and textures used took this remodel to the next level.

Honey, have you seen the refrigerator?

Honey, have you seen the refrigerator?

In my book there are really only two ways to handle appliances in a high end home. They can either be a high tech statement piece in gleaming stainless...or so completely hidden that you can't even find them unless you live there. Clearly we took the latter route on this cottage-like home with just marvelous results. Dishwasher, freezer, and the refrigerator (at far left) are all completly hidden in this home.

South of France...or South of Missouri?

South of France...or South of Missouri?

This remains one of the finest European inspired elevations that WHL has ever done. The footprint of this estate sized home was so massive and impressive that the homeownwers had to purchase two lots to complete this vision, but it was a wise investment for this kind of a statement.

The Hog & Hound

The Hog & Hound

This client celebrated their proud Irish roots with an authentic Irish pub right in the home. I love it when a home is a true reflection of the person that lives there and this defintely qualifies. It was my very great pleasure to help this client bring this unique vision to life.

It's not just for hippies anymore

It's not just for hippies anymore

I think some people still picture a mess of tangled wires and electrical tape when we mention 'going green' and 'alternative energy'. In truth our most sophisticated clients are the ones pursuing green projects, and the results are far from the science experiments of years ago. Just look at this state of the art interior control center for one of our client's solar arrays. Let us show you how to go green and look good doing it!

Hallway Hall of Fame

Hallway Hall of Fame

How could you not feel like a king or queen walking down a hallway like this every day?

First Impressions Matter

Here is an impressive entry we recently did for one of our clients.

Bright and Airy

Bright and Airy

We have done all kinds of kitchens for our clients and this is a great example of the clean sophisticated lines and cheerfulness painted and glazed cabinets bring to the table.

Use Your Lot Wisely

Use Your Lot Wisely

Many people think you need a front to back slope for a basement home, but we debunked that theory with wise use of this lot. I include this home as an excellent example of how working with your lot instead of fighting it leads to fantastic results. At WHL we frequently get involved in the design phase of a new project to ensure that this type of home and land harmony comes together for our clients.

The Closer You Look...

The Closer You Look...

The closer you look at a WHL home, the better we look! I get really excited when the careful selection of individual elements comes together this well. Here the stone features on the elevation combine perfectly with the ashlar pattern on the patio while the wrought iron of the carriage lights and fully functional exterior shutters combine to create a classic effect I'm really proud of.

Things are Looking Up!

Things are Looking Up!

One of the best ways to bring a dramatic appearance to a home is to use your ceilings to your advantage. Here is an artfully executed example of how to combine the rich textures of dark wood with the ample lighting that lets them really sing. The fantastic iron grates on the lights are the finishing touch that really sets them off from the painted areas of the ceiling but keeps the richness intact.

WHL Goes Corporate

WHL Goes Corporate

It may be a well kept secret that WHL also does fantastic commercial spaces for restaurants, executive board rooms, you name it! In this installation a biofuel fireplace centered on an accent wall of raised stone pyramids is the focal point.

Mix it Up

Mix it Up

Don't be afraid to combine textures and materials to create amazing spaces. I was excited with how all the elements came together here...there are wood and granite counter tops, two types of painted and also stained cabinets. Rustic textures on the hand scraped wood floor combine with glossy tiles on the backsplash to create something that takes the best from both worlds. If you know what you are doing with these elements you can create something that is one-of-a-kind.

Make a statement to your clients

Make a statement to your clients

Just because you do business in a space doesn't mean it has to be boring! If your work space requires setting up an environment to close a deal or create an inviting space where people want to come again and again WHL can make it happen for you. Call WHL to create you a professional space that exudes success.

Pool Experts

Pool Experts

As a luxury home builder a great deal of the homes we build have a pool component to them, so we work with and manage the best pool builders in the area. We are masters of making the outdoors and indoors of a home harmonize to get you the maximum enjoyment out of your pool whether you are in it or viewing it from inside your home.

Shower Power

Shower Power

I don't know about you but it's already hard enough for me to get out of the shower on Monday morning...a shower like this could make anyone late to work on a regular basis. I just love how the wood grain texture of the tile compliments the pebble creek bottom of the space. The state of the art fixtures make the space even more inviting and are so well done in a minimalist way that they dont detract from the organic nature of the space.

What Happens in Vegas...

What Happens in Vegas...

What happens in Vegas...can happen in your backyard! This is an outdoor entertaining space that would be the envy of any Las Vegas hotel. The multiple levels of terracing here add interest and give natural areas for groups with varied interests to form naturally. The bar running the full width of the pool lets peaople enjoying the pool and the patio socialize together. It really doesn't get any better than this!

Why Hide It?

Why Hide It?

If you can make a refrigerator look this good why not make it the focal point of your kitchen? This looks more like your grandmother's armoire than your grandfather's refrigerator!

What Clients Say
